What’s Next?

Our success and increased need inspired us to expand our vision:

  • First, we want to serve more students with the technology and supplies they need to excel.
  • Second, we want to share our formula with other communities.

In online, virtual and digital age, computers, tablets and WI-FI access will determine whether students with limited family resources will be able to access education at all.  In order to meet this new challenge, the Bookbag Movement is working with our fiscal agent, the HBCU Green Fund, Inc. to raise funds to provide essential equipment and resources for K-12 students in need.

IATSE has been a major contributor to Bookbag Movement and we are now reaching out to other organizations for support, especially those in the service industries.  These are challenging times for all workers so it is our hope that while you may not be able to give all that you would like at this time, you will give a little.  100% of all donations in-kind and in-cash go to supplies, equipment and resources for needy students.

Most people think that with all of the back-to-school drives for school supplies needy students must get what they need.  Sadly, this is not the case.  It is also not true that students are equipped with laptops and Wi-Fi.  It is up to us to do what we can to fill the gap.
